Hosted Use Cases
  • UC2: Digital Twin for first responders

  • UC4: Advanced sports area media services

  • UC6: XR-assisted services for public safety

Description

The Patras5G testbed today is comprised of an open infrastructure acting as an "isolated" private infrastructure for 5G and IoT applications. The infrastructure components are based on both open-source and commercial solutions, with dedicated components and services to support 5G and IoT scenarios. The Patras5G testbed supports both containerized and virtualized deployments from 5G RAN to 5G Core including 5G standalone (SA) setups, IoT gateways, as well as the necessary cloud and SDN fabric to host any service that needs to be tested and integrated with the testbed infrastructure. Access to users and applications is enabled by the open-source Operations Support System (OSS) Openslice.

TID
Hosted Use Cases
  • UC1: Internet of Senses / Haptic sensing

  • UC3: City security event / incident

Description

UMA is operating an infrastructure for research in 5G in two environments, combining commercial carrier-grade and open-source network components. The indoor setup is based on a Keysight emulators for 4G and 5G plus anechoic chambers, commercial user devices and advanced monitoring equipment (energy, spectrum, etc.). The outdoor setup is deployed on the UMA campus. These cells are connected to local core networks in order to provide a full private network. They support LTE and 5G NR to implement the Non-Stand-Alone and Stand-Alone modes. The distributed configuration with base unit plus remote heads allows it to move towards a C-RAN deployment. The support of several network identifiers (PLMNs) with MOCN technologies is used to implement a first level of slicing at the radio, offering up to six operators at the same time. The virtualized infrastructure with support for traditional virtual machines and containers supports any approach to service deployment. This setup is expanded to the city center by means of an agreement with the city of Malaga.

Hosted Use Cases
  • UC5: Virtual Reality Networked music performance

  • UC7: Smart village engagement services

Description

The 5GMediaHUB testbed offered by IQU implements implement a fully featured end-to-end private 5G platform, complete with a local cloud, SDN networking and 5G networking offered via Amarisoft gNBs connected to an Open5Gs Core. An OpenStack-based Virtual Infrastructure Manager (VIM) hosts all services related to Management, Orchestration and SDN control. An ETSI OSM based Cross-Domain Service Orchestrator (CDSO) is offered, with built-in support for Network Applications and slice management capabilities. SDN access switches are employed in the Network layer, to interconnect the hypervisors and test load balancing scenarios and MEC nodes supporting VX/XR Network Applications and associated UEs (e.g., headsets) are supported, and integrated with the 5G network via dedicated UPF functions.

Description

Commercial deployment will be used as basis to expand towards meeting FIDAL requirements. Private network service setup will be used to isolate FIDAL from the commercial network thus ensuring security while trials are carried out. 5G evolution extensions will be based on NOKIA technology.

Hosted Use Cases
  • UC1: Internet of Senses / Haptic sensing

  • UC3: City security event / incident

Description

TID´s private 5G Network deployed at UMA Campus and City Center will offer a unique environment to test FIDAL services/use cases. It offers a full private environment at UMA Campus using private PLMN, and a hybrid 5G network in the city center based in MOCN using Private and Public PLMNs. Moreover, this facility will provide access through FIDAL services using 5G Public network from TID, Movistar

Hosted Use Cases
  • UC5: Virtual Reality Networked music performance

  • UC7: Smart village engagement services

Description

TNOR provides dedicated end-to-end trial facility infrastructure, across several geographically separate locations. The central site will be located in the TNORHQ at Fornebu (Oslo). Local Edge cloud and RAN sites will be at Fornebu, Trondheim and Svalbard, interconnected by Telenor Norway’s commercial transport network to the central site (and directly interconnected if needed). The central site will host and provide a 5G SA core (regularly updated beyond 5G). The TNOR FIDAL Facility can be integrated with other testbeds and/or facilities across Europe for validating large-scale, as well as multi-domain deployment scenarios, via Internet or GEANT/Uninett, considering service concepts along with “European Offer” concept and solution developments. The trial facility embraces the Network Slice-as-a-Service and the Logical Network as a Service paradigms and support various customers and users, e.g., vertical use cases, external testbeds, and remote facilities.
