FIDAL at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025
FIDAL participated in the 2025 EuCNC & 6G Summit in Málaga, bringing together project partners, Open Call beneficiaries and members of the wider European 5G and 6G community. Throughout the event, FIDAL was present on the exhibition floor, where several project demonstrations were showcased. Visitors had the opportunity to discover solutions developed through the FIDAL Open Calls, including SafeXCity and SwarmCatcher, as well as 5GMOBITRUST, one of the projects contributing to the validation of FIDAL’s Use Case 3 (UC3). The booth provided a space to discuss project results, exchange feedback with stakeholders and highlight the impact of FIDAL’s experimentation activities.
FIDAL Final Event
A major moment during the week was the FIDAL Final Event with a demo by 5GMobitrust and the presentation of the main achievements of the project and the outcomes of its large-scale experimentation activities.
In collaboration with the Málaga Local Police, 5GMobitrust the project demonstrated how real-time video, environmental data, and biometric information can be integrated and transmitted over 5G networks to Command-and-Control Centres, improving operational awareness in emergencies.
The demonstration showcased reliable communication and video transmission capabilities using Telefónica’s public network and GSMA Open Gateway APIs. As part of the FIDAL Open Call programme and in coordination with UC3 activities, 5G_Mobitrust has validated its solution through three large-scale trials conducted within the project framework.
Workshops and Special Sessions
Beyond its exhibition and final event activities, FIDAL contributed to several workshops and special sessions held during EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025.
The project participated in Workshop 8: "Sustainability in 6G: E2E Integration and Assessment", which explored approaches to integrating sustainability considerations across future network architectures and services.
FIDAL was also involved in Workshop 11: "Sustainable by Design, Sustainable in Operation: The 6G Perspective", focusing on how sustainability can be embedded both in the design and operation of next-generation communication networks.
In addition, the project contributed to Workshop 14: "Large-Scale Trials and Pilots: The Pathway from SNS JU Call 1 to R&I Work Programme 2027", sharing perspectives on experimentation, validation activities, and the role of large-scale trials in supporting future research and innovation initiatives.
We concluded our final day of EuCNC & 6G Summit with an intervention in a dedicated session on the SNS JU cascaded funding opportunities. Organized by the SNS Open Call Task Force. FIDAL intervened with a presentation on the impressive key statistics collected through the Open Call process.
