5G-SDA project : 5G private networking for low latency, time critical and high bandwidth driving training applications.
The 5G-SDA project aims to provide FIDAL network with a pilot infrastructure, a track testbed for driver training and exams. AI-assisted performance assessment tool, leveraging on 5G network, coupled with a new AR tool that will offer real-time feedback on driving behavior, specifically gaze direction, using smart glasses and other sensors, will improve driver training, infrastructure, traffic management, and road safety, benefiting vulnerable road users and reducing accidents.
MC-SEAL
Mission Critical SEAL as enabler of AI-based emergency coordination and decision-making
MC-SEAL Trial explores new ways of exposing 3GPP compliant Mission Critical Services (MCX) in a Service Enabler Architecture Layer (SEAL) approach. The MC service-based SEAL substratum will be exposed to different Vertical Application Layers (VAL) developed by Nuuk Technologies SL, for AI-based emergency coordination and decision-making. Such an approach not only facilitates access to MCX technology for end-users, but also enables interaction between different services and reinforces synergies. This framework can nurture and grow, resulting in solutions of greater value..
AI-HOLOCOM
Affordable and Immersive Holographic Communication service (AI-HOLOCOM), aims to provide portable and easy-to-access holographic experiences relying on an affordable setup and leaning on the features of beyond 5G networks to compensate for other technical limitations.
CORAL - Consortium of SMEs fOr 5G tRiALs
The project involves two key activities: 1. the integration of the CORAL Testing Facility into the FIDAL Test Bed, featuring Linux-based servers, 5G gNodeB emulators, and advanced virtualization tools (OSM, OpenStack, Kubernetes), 2. the implementation of two use cases: i) remote robot control via Augmented Reality to manage a warehouse robot remotely, ii) urban flood alert system using a network of IoT rainfall sensors to monitor and predict floods across a large area.
RescueSync - Beyond 5G Emergency Coordination
RescueSync envisions revolutionizing emergency response and Public Protection and Disaster Relief coordination (PPDR) through the power of Augmented Reality (AR). By leveraging the capabilities of Beyond 5G, RescueSync aims to provide a seamless, real-time, and immersive communication platform that bridges the gap between on-site field officers and Command and Control (C2) operators....
Magos Bakri Balloon Placement Training (MBBPT)
DADOLTI: Drone-based Automated Distribution Overhead Lines and Towers Inspection through 5G-enabled hierarchical inference in the drone-captured video feed.
DADOLTI uses Hierarchical Inference (HI) to combine cloud and edge computing for cost-effective, secure predictive maintenance in distribution grids. As drones move, dynamic server allocation for the DL model will be managed by leveraging the decentralized 5G architecture and instantiating a UPF instance on an edge server near the relevant gNBs.
B5GVN
B5GVideoNet (B5GVN) is a B5G/6G platform for providing live video uplink & sharing services for media sports and news creators. Live video is the corner stone for sports and news productions. 5GVideoNet explores the leading remote production workflows as a service over B5G and cloud environments. These include remote on and off site productions using bonded multilink for UL and DL, over B5G NPN, slices, Edge computing and network exposure technologies.
TiFi
Tactile Internet Fidelity over FIDAL for Bilateral Teleoperation
Bilateral teleoperation is the process of efficiently carrying out the operator’s action in a smooth, secured fashion at a remote end, for example, operating a remote robotic device using a haptic device. Through TiFi, we aim to combine the best capabilities/features that the next generation wireless network (5G and beyond) can offer along with the digital twin at the local operator end to achieve high tactile internet (TI) fidelity, i.e. to make TI-enabled teleoperation over long distances a reality.
