6G4Society organized the Workshop “Beyond 5G technology for public safety: bridging innovation & societal values” in the frame of the PSCE Spring Conference. The event took place 21 & 22 May in Gothenburg, Sweden. FIDAL contributed to the session by sharing examples from the PPDR KVIs specifically developed in the context of its Use Case 2. The inputs shared by FIDAL have been included in a video gathering also interventions from fellow SNS projects TRIALSNET and 6G-PATH.
The session culminated in an interactive discussion between PPDR stakeholders from practice, industry, and academia, exploring how value-driven thinking can shape the way we design, develop, and implement technologies for public safety.
Bringing KVI into the Spring Conference added a new layer of reflection — connecting cutting-edge innovation with what truly matters: people, values, and real-world societal impact. It encouraged us to look beyond technical performance and consider what kind of future we want to build with technology and ensure that all technological developments are purposefully designed to support PPDR objectives in building a safer world.
